The Hometown Heroes Banner project is NOT a fundraising event, and therefore the purchase of a banner is not tax deductable. The Sussex-Wantage Historical Society facilitates the application process, ordering the banners, installation, and maintenance replacement of them if needed within a three year period from installation. All funds collected go to this. No funds go to the Historical Society for the use of running it or the purchase of supplies or artifacts. We participate in the project because it is important to remember our Hometown Heroes and give them the respect they deserve because each and every one of them is a part of our local history.
